What is the "Send a Message" feature?

This feature allows orchestra members to send a message to any instrument group or groups. This replaces the instrument mail aliases (e.g., plural_instrument_name  @  redwoodsymphony . org ) which have been deactivated due to a policy change at our web hosting service. See this page for more information.

Simply select the instrument group or groups that you with to contact, enter your e-mail address, and type in your message. When your message is completed, enter the code shown in the security image, and click the Send button. Your message will be sent as plain text, and no attachments are possible.

The message will be sent to each member of the selected groups listed as BCCs (that is, not displayed in the message); only your email address (that is, the one you entered on the page) will appear, in both the From and To fields.

For security, the e-mail address you enter must match an address in the orchestra list.  It is hoped that this restriction, combined with use of the security image, will prevent spam from being sent from the Send a Message page.
