June 8 Concert -- Turangalila

Program:

• Stravinsky: Fanfare for a New Theatre 2 trumpets only
• Messiaen: Turangalia 3 flutes/picc, 3 oboes (1=E.H.), 3 clarinets (1 bass cl), 3 bassoons, 4 horns, 5 trumpets (1 picc, 1 coronet), 3 trombones, tuba, 12 percussion, synthesizer, piano, strings

Concert Dress:

Black with a splash of color

• April 9 optional reading session
• April 16 Read first five movements 7-10 P.M.
• April 23 Rehearse first five movements (no piano soloist) 7-10 P.M.
• April 30 Read last five movements 7-10 P.M.
• May 7 Parts from all movements 7-10 P.M.
• May 14 Parts from all movements 7-10 P.M.
• Friday, May 16 Strings only 7-10 P.M.
• May 21 Parts from all movements 7-10 P.M.
• May 28 Parts from all movements 7-10 P.M.
• June 4 Run-through 7-10 P.M.
• Saturday June 7 Dress rehearsal
    10 A.M. - 1:30 P.M.
• Sunday June 8 Concert
    Concert: 3 P.M. (2:30 call)

 

July 19 Concert -- Summer Pops

• Copland: Fanfare for the Common Man
• Saint-Saëns: Piano Concerto No. 2, with Linette Illastron-Vinluan, piano
• Beethoven: Symphony No. 6 "Pastoral"
