Something different. That's what you'll experience at a Redwood Symphony concert. Our innovative programs bring you the excitement and drama at the heart of the great works -- finding the spark that makes each piece a musical landmark.

We also explore future classics, compositions that will find their place in musical history. Incisive pre-concert talks by Music Director Eric Kujawsky help you discover the unique qualities of every work.

Our orchestra is made up of volunteers -- trained musicians who perform for the love of music. We're not stuffy about music or the way we perform it. We'll meet with you at intermission, and we invite kids to sit on stage with us at our family concerts. We want to share our enthusiasm with you. [read more]

[continued from top] From the Music Director:

Dear Friends of Redwood Symphony: I'm truly excited about our upcoming season, the beginning of our third decade!

Our season lineup embodies the eclectic and diverse offerings you've come to expect from our fine group of dedicated volunteers: my favorite Mahler symphony, exciting and approachable contemporary music, your favorite works from the standard repertoire, and the best local soloists.

And at our opening event on October 2, we'll celebrate our twentieth anniversary concert with a musical birthday party like no other. We'll hold a prestigious premiere of music by one of our greatest film composers, Danny Elfman. I'll share my favorite memories from Redwood Symphony's history and we'll introduce a few surprise guests. Of course, there'll be plenty of birthday cake -- and music! I hope you will join us for this very special event, and for another exciting season.
