Our new orchestra manager, Kristin Link (Violin II) is another transplanted Midwesterner. She came west with her husband, Brian Link (Bass) in 1990.
Although she has degrees in music education and string pedagogy, she opted for a steady paycheck when she arrived in California and currently runs the word processing and billing departments for a civil rights law firm in Oakland. With seven years of teaching experience, and many years doing orchestra management working her way through school, she was a natural to replace Ari when he decided to pass on the responsibilities. She'll also be doing some conducting with the group in rehearsals (beyond her thirty-second debut in November). She has studied conducting with Catherine Comet, Gustav Meier, and one of Eric's teachers, Paul Vermel--so you might notice a few similarities in technique.
If you're going to miss a rehearsal, please call or E-Mail Kristin at:

Several people have suggested that we use the acronym RSO rather than RWS for our orchestra. [Ed. note: I was one of those people.] Responses to this suggestion have made use of following arguments: (1) The name of our group is Redwood Symphony, not Redwood Symphony Orchestra, and (2) By tradition, Redwood City is referred to as RWC, hence Redwood Symphony yields RWS.
If you are still uncomfortable with our current acronym, please address your concerns to Peter Stahl, Claudia Herzog, or other members of the board.
