The narrator for our Carmen performance will be Bill O'Connell.
Unfortunately, Nina Postolovskaya will be unable to perform will us as scheduled on March 24th. Arrangements for a substitute pianist are being developed.
We have a reasonable number of volunteer players from most of the wind sections for the upcoming Viennese Ball orchestra, but almost no strings. We really don't want to present a Viennese Ball Band!
The event will be on the evening of February 17, which is the weekend after our upcoming concert.
Rehearsals: Thursday, Feb. 15 at Caņada (no RWS rehearsal that week, by the way) and the morning of Feb. 17 (10:00 a.m. at Ralston Mansion).
Strings Needed: 3 1st violins, 2 2nd violins, 2 violas, 2 cellos
Winds (many already accounted for): 2 flutes, 1 oboe, 1 clarinet, 1 bassoon, 2 trumpets, 1 tuba, 1 percussionist, keyboard.
Also welcome: Electrified bass, extra clarinet, horn(s).
Something called The McKinley Group has discovered the RWS web site, approved it (along with zillions of others) and awarded us a "Reviewed by Magellan" logo.
Peter Stahl spotted ads for our Clarity CDs at the Clarity web site.
VOLUNTEER UPDATE
We have one person who has volunteered to be a liaison to the music teacher's community, but we still need others to work with:
With an "All-American Theme" and a great soloist, we should all be able to sell lots of tickets for this concert. Please try!
