CONCERT DRESS
This is a formal affair:
- Men: tuxedos or black suits, with colorful bow ties &
cummerbunds (any color, or even plaid). Bow ties are
mandatory; no long ties.
- Women: black dresses (or nice slacks okay) with a
colorful scarf, belt, or other accent. Please keep it
dignified, not casual.
RETURN UNSOLD TICKETS!!!
You must return unsold tickets by Saturday so they're
available for sale at the box office.
CONCERTO COMPETITION
It's time to start thinking about participating in our annual
Concerto Competition. The date has not yet been finalized, but
sometime in March is likely. Please see Eric regarding repertoire
if interested, and plan on getting your own accompanist.
WE NEED TABLECLOTHS
We need someone to lend us plain white tablecloths for use in
the lobby. If you can help, please see Victor Lee (percussion).
REMINDERS, ETC.
- There are extra copies of the blue Season Rehearsal
Calendars on the music rack.
- It is very important to return all your music on Saturday
night after the concert. It costs us a lot of money if
rental parts are returned late. Some anonymous musician just
returned a part from our June concert, and we'll have
to pay a big late fee for it.
Be responsible. Thanks!
- If you still haven't paid your dues (you know who you
are), please do so now and save us the trouble of asking
you personally. $30, cash or check (payable to Redwood
Symphony), goes to Treasurer Janet Sloan (cello, 3rd
stand, outside chair).
- Peter says "If you see someone ignoring this
newsletter, please remind him/her that the more people
read the Notepad, the less we'll have to make long
announcements during rehearsals."

Dieter Bergman (violin) has published an
autobiography dealing with the Second World War in Europe and his
personal experiences with partial Jewish background. The book of
438 pages and 23 pictures sells at a cost of about $20, tax
included. He will have a copy with him at future rehearsals.
This is a Web version of text from the newsletter
"Redwood Symphony Notepad" which is distributed to
members of the Redwood Symphony at rehearsals. The newsletter and
this online version are edited by George Yefchak.
