The Schedule

See here.

As a reminder, please remember to bring a music stand with you to each rehearsal. Better to have too many than not enough! Other items which can come in handy include stand lights, power strips, and extension cords

Scent-Free Zone

-- A message from Schola Cantorum

The singers of Schola Cantorum would like to request that members of Redwood Symphony join Schola's "zero fragrance" policy. Many of our singers are allergic to perfumes, scented hairsprays, and so forth; such allergies make it difficult for them to sing. We ask our singers to use only unscented products during performances and rehearsals. We respectfully request that Redwood Symphony members might do the same. On behalf of the singers, thank you for your consideration.

Parking at Bayside PAC

The map shown on our web site and publicity materials seems to do a good job directing people to the Bayside Performing Arts Center grounds, but the parking situation can be confusing. Most orchestra and audience members should park in the very large but nearly hidden lot behind the hall. Please leave the small lot near the stage doors for those with large and/or heavy instruments, and leave the front lot for our elderly or disabled patrons. Thanks!

20th Anniversary Scrapbook Coming Next Fall

-- by Janet Sloan (cello)

I am beginning work on the 20th Anniversary Memory Book for Redwood Symphony. While I already have a huge collection of programs, reviews, etc. from Eric, I would like to ask if there are fellow RWS members who might have items that could be added to the book. Any photos, special items, or favorite memories would be really appreciated. I hope to have the memory book ready for the October concert. Digital photos can be sent by e-mail to janet@peterates.com. Other items can be given to me; I will try to duplicate (if possible) if you want to keep your item. Thanks very much!

Orchestra Email and AOL

Orchestra members with AOL e-mail addresses may not be receiving messages sent to the distribution lists. Our mail services provider, CrystalTech.com,  is negotiating with AOL to alleviate the problem, but a permanent solution is not expected for some time. We're following this situation and will explore other options if necessary. Meanwhile, AOL users who also have access to another e-mail system should consider using their non-AOL address for orchestra messages during this time. See George (oboe).

This is a Web version of text from the newsletter "Redwood Symphony Notepad" which is distributed to members of the Redwood Symphony at rehearsals. The newsletter and this online version are edited by George Yefchak.
