Chamber Music Concert

Don't forget our first RWS Chamber Music concert this Saturday, Jan. 24th, 8:00 P.M. at Caņada College.

Concerto Competition

You're invited to sign up for the RWS concerto competition! This year's competition will be held on Sunday, March 22, at 10:00 A.M. Solo and small ensemble concerto works are eligible. Entrants should provide their own keyboard accompanists (if a piano-reduction if available) and additional scores for judges if possible. Please see Eric for details.

Deadlines

Please keep the following dates in mind if you're providing information for the next concert program:

Caņada College kindly provides free duplication for our concert programs, but they would like originals two weeks in advance--in this case, Feb. 9--which is not likely to ever happen. But it's important not to miss the deadlines shown above. If we're too late, programs must be printed at Kinko's, which the orchestra must pay for with real $$$.

Stamp out Composers

stamps.jpg (89369 bytes)The U.S. Postal service is currently selling stamps commemorating various American composers and conductors, including Charles Ives. Those of you that enjoy Ives' music may wish to buy a set in honor of our upcoming performance. Others may wish to use these stamps for the vicarious pleasure of having the word “Cancelled” stamped across Ives' image.
