You may know that in the past, several employers have made contributions to Redwood Symphony. This has happened because orchestra members made the effort to ask whether their employers would help sponsor the symphony. The symphony would welcome additional grants from your employers this year to help underwrite this season's major projects.
We need your help. Please inquire at your workplace to see if your employer has a philanthropic organization or foundation which might favor giving a benefit to the orchestra. If you can identify that your employer does, Griff Derryberry (viola) would be more than happy to help move the process along. Thanks.
Volunteer positions for Redwood Symphony are now listed on VolunteerMatch. (Thanks to Griff Derryberry for setting this up.)
We'll have a link to the VolunterMatch site somewhere on our own web site soon.

My daughter Allison is (finally) getting married. She would like to employ a string quartet for the big ceremony. I volunteered for the job, and I played for both my son's weddings in years past, but Allison doesn't want me (can you blame her?).
The thing is happening at Ardenwood Historic Farm in Fremont on 16 June. Music from about 5:30 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Allison doesn't want too much Mozart, or too much of the usual sugar-sweet stuff. Maybe something in-between.
I have told Allison that professional musicians are going to want adequate compensation. I don't know what the going rate is these days.
Any established string quartets out there? Please call me at 650-968-4246.
BarbWired Designs is proud to announce the launch of their newest web site, for Valerie Sarfaty's legal practice.
