The Lyratones are an 18-piece Jazz Band that has delighted Bay area audiences for over thirty years. Originally founded as a Lockheed Employees Recreation Association club (hence the original name LERAtones), the band improved its musical capabilities by adding talented non-Lockheed members, and subsequently disassociated from LERA. The band has an exten sive library of authentic copies of the most popular hits of the famous bands of the 40's and 50's era, faithfully reproducing the sounds of the Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Harry James, Woody Herman and other great bands of the Swing Era. The band continues to operate as an organization dedicated to preserving Swing music and is available for local fund-raisers and public and private events. The band may be contacted at 408-257-5718 or Jerry@Lyratones.org.
