We received the following note:
I am student from San Jose State University and I am working on a combined group assignment for our Ergonomics/Human Factors course. We are currently working on a semester long assignment and I feel that the you might be of great assistance to us.
Our project involves a personal digital assistant for musicians. The device will be able to digitally display sheet music, have a composing software and playback, and such bonuses as a built-in tuner.
Here is where you might be of assistance. We are putting together a focus group, and/or questionnaire to aid us with the Human Factors portion of the project. We would like to be able to speak to a few musicians to get some vital information and feedback involved with our product. All we would need is a few musician volunteers to do a little one-on-one with our small group. If this cannot be arranged for any reason, could we possibly email a very short questionnaire to those willing. Thank you very much for your time and we are all eager to hear from you soon. If you would like more information about the logistics of the project, feel free to contact our professor Del Coates (Professor Art & Design, phone: 408-924-4376, e-mail: dcoates@best.com).

The background image on the post card advertisement for our upcoming concert is a photo of the Appian way, featuring a pine tree. The final movement of Pines of Rome depicts an army of 10,000 brass players carrying a baby whale towards us along this path. (Or something like that.)
Please see Eric's recent e-mail message for details. Contact Geri Actor (geri.actor@attbi.com, 408-395-2911) if you're interested. Rehearsals are Mondays evenings, the concert is Saturday, April 26th.
