Remember, the orchestra party is this weekend. This is a chance to enjoy a great afternoon outside, and to help thank our volunteers for all the help they provide to the organization. Once again, Ann Walker is our gracious host. There are invitation available at today's rehearsal, and also on our web site if you know the secret password!
Please RSVP using the form on our web site. Or you can call Ann directly; her phone number is on the invitation.
The orchestra has a brand new banner. Unlike our previous banner, which featured our old logo and advertised only a 3 P.M. Sunday concert, the new multi-use banner system can be configured for any of our concerts using interchangeable panels. The configuration for our upcoming concert is shown below. Additional panels are available for Sunday concerts, for other concert times, and for the family concert.

That's all great, but… We need a new volunteer to mount the banner a few days before each concert, and to take it down after the concerts. According to Claudia Keys (former board member), two people are required, one with strength enough to hammer the support stakes into the ground. Claudia and her husband had taken care of the old banner, but they have recently retired from that duty.
There are two additional, one-time tasks. We need somebody to verify that the poles and rope used for our old banner will work for the newer, taller banner. (If not, we'll need to obtain new mounting hardware.) And we need to make sure that we can place the banner at LAUMC. (This is our fist concert at that location.)
None of these tasks require much time -- just a few minutes work, four or five times each season. But the orchestra will benefit greatly. How about you? Will you be our brand new volunteer and help us with these important tasks? If you volunteer now, we won't have to send out any annoying e-mail messages begging for help. Thanks!
To volunteer, please contact George (oboe).

Thanks to Sally Fundakowski and all our volunteers for hosting our booth at the Mountain View festival this weekend. We got lots of names for our mailing list, gave away some tickets, and talked to lots of interested people! Even Mozart showed up!
