For the February concert (and probably for the rest of this season), our mailing list recipients will receive 4"×6" color postcards instead of the usual 8.5"×11" photocopied fliers. A supply of the fliers will still be printed for handout at rehearsals, however, since we encourage orchestra members to display these as posters wherever possible. One disadvantage to the smaller format is insufficient space for Eric's letter. An abbreviated version will appear on the postcard, but the full-length message is always available on our web site (and will be printed on the back of the flier, as usual).
If you've answered "yes" to these questions, then Redwood Symphony is looking for you!
The orchestra's audience mailing lists (used for our concert fliers, season brochures, etc.) are currently maintained in MyMailingList, an entry-level software package which has worked well enough for us in the past. But we'd like to upgrade to a more powerful platform and take advantage of additional capabilities offered by professional database programs. So we're looking for a volunteer who can do the following:
Longer term goals could include incorporating our membership records (working with the music director), ticket sales data, integration with our web site, etc.
For program notes, donor lists, soloist bios, advertisements, etc.
This is a Web version of text from the newsletter "Redwood Symphony Notepad" which is distributed to members of the Redwood Symphony at rehearsals. The newsletter and this online version are edited by George Yefchak.
